Can You Feel The LOVE?

Celebrating LOVE with my LOVE.
After 15 years of marriage, I knew that it wasn’t necessary to get all worked up while we were looking for parking for our "date day" at the "I Still Do” marriage conference. It didn’t matter if I would've had detailed information of the exact parking garage including the address and the cost. It didn’t matter that my husband was probably doing the exact opposite and winging it. It didn’t matter because, he has proven over and over again that he ALWAYS gets us to our destination on time.  We’ve had a couple of close calls that may have involved sprinting but we have NEVER missed a date.

So…I could breath, sit back and relax.  Since I was not worrying myself over when, how, and where we were going to find a parking space, I was able to fully tune into the present moment. I felt the energy that vibrated stronger and stronger as we approached the Verizon Center. I recognized that energy. It was love...PURE LOVE! Husbands held their wives extra tight. Wives leaned in a little closer to their husbands. Regardless of our differences and circumstances for being there, we all had one thing in common…we all could feel LOVE in the air!

The biggest take away from the conference was the reminder of the importance to invest in our relationships. Not just husband/wife relationship but ALL relationships that are important to us. It is so easy to let the hustle and bustle of everyday life get in the way of us truly connecting with the people we LOVE. But LOVE is essential to our happiness.

"There is only one happiness in this life, to love and to be loved."
 - George Sand

The greatest gift we can share is LOVE. LOVE is patient.  LOVE is kind..LOVE never fails (1 Corinthians 13:4,8). LOVE is a very strong energy that can be felt as soon as we enter its presence.  Take the time to connect with someone you LOVE today.  I guarantee that it will be time well spent.

I Am Who God Says I Am

I AM WHO GOD SAYS I AM
The first time someone referred to me as a blogger, I pretty much chalked it up as a misunderstanding. I was reading a friend's blog and she mentioned a project that she was planning to do in the new year with a fellow blogger. I knew we had just had a meeting about a project we planned to do together in the new year…but she couldn’t possibly be talking about me. I'm not a blogger, yet, am I? I had only been blogging a little over a month!

Then a few weeks later this same friend invited me to attend a blog party…Wait, who me? This must be a misunderstanding. I’m still learning.  Despite the fear of making a complete fool of myself, I was still excited to go, especially, with a “real” blogger.  My excitement quickly faded when I got the dreaded message…"I won’t be able to make it. I doubt my husband will make it home in time." Noooooooo…Ok now what!?! After a super intense pep talk with myself and my husband, I decided to go alone.  I convinced myself that it would be a great networking and learning opportunity.  I quickly logged onto the computer to reserve my ticket.   I didn't want to leave too much time to talk myself out of it.  The Eventbrite loads on the computer screen. Choose: I'm a blogger, I'm a blog reader, I’m a Choose Civility Alliance Partner.  I stared at that screen for a good 5 minutes…do I click it…do I click it…Yes!  I AM A BLOGGER!

Wow!  I did it!  I went to the event and had an awesome time.  I bravely went up to strangers and introduced myself. "Hi, I’m Jamie and I am a blogger," over and over again. And the more I said it, the more comfortable I became with my new title.  I realized that I may have never said it out loud before, but, I was a blogger from the very first day that I wrote my very first blog in the front seat of my husband's car (Read my first blog post "It’s Official").

Don’t let fear stand in the way of sharing with the world what and who you truly are.  For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Timonthy 1:7).   Remember God told YOU His vision for your life.  Don’t let what others may say or think discourage you.  Go forth in confidence. God has equipped you with everything you need to fulfill His purpose for you in this moment.  And He will place the right people, experiences and opportunities in your life for you to continue to grow and learn in preparation to fulfill the purpose He plans for you in the next moment.

Standing in that promise, I can confidently say, I AM WHO GOD SAYS I AM.  If he told me, I am a blogger then...Act like a blogger. Speak like a blogger. Think like a blogger. Once you BELIEVE what God has placed in your heart the rest of the world will follow.
Who is God telling you, you are? Act like it. Speak like it. Think like it. BELIEVE IT!
